OUR EVENTS
Illinois Jaycees General Assembly
The Illinois Jaycees General Assemblies (GAs) are engaging gatherings where members from across the state come together to collaborate, network, and develop leadership skills. These events provide opportunities for training sessions, project planning, and recognition of outstanding achievements within the organization. GAs serve as a platform to inspire innovation, foster community impact, and strengthen the mission of empowering young professionals and leaders across Illinois.
The Outstanding Young People
The Illinois Jaycees' The Outstanding Young People (TOYP) Award recognizes exceptional individuals aged 18 to 40 who have made significant contributions to their communities, professions, or society. This prestigious honor highlights young leaders who demonstrate innovation, leadership, and a commitment to positive change. Through the TOYP program, the Illinois Jaycees celebrate the inspiring stories of these individuals, motivating others to pursue excellence and service.
OUR PROGRAMS
United to Beat Malaria
The United Nations Foundation’s United to Beat Malaria campaign is the world’s largest grassroots initiative dedicated to saving lives by raising awareness, funds, and advocacy to protect vulnerable families from malaria. Nearly every minute, a child dies from this preventable disease. The Illinois Jaycees support the campaign through local fundraisers, participation in Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill, and virtual meetings with Congress to drive meaningful policy change.
President Initiative
Each year, the State President selects a cause that is personally significant to focus on. Past initiatives have included Special Olympics, food insecurity, senior citizens, and mental health. This year's State Initiative is Building the Next Leaders from the Inside Out, which focuses on three areas to help chapters develop young leaders within their membership and communities: physical, mental, and financial wellness.
Camp New Hope
Camp New Hope is a year-round recreational facility for individuals with special needs, ages eight and above, offering activities like fishing, pontoon boat rides, swimming, mini golf, crafts, and more across its scenic 41-acre property on Lake Mattoon. The Illinois Jaycees support Camp New Hope through fundraising efforts and by assisting with preparations for the summer camp season. In 2025, the Illinois Jaycees plan to enhance their involvement by participating in more camp events as schedules permit.
