OUR EVENTS
The JCI Illinois General Assemblies (GAs) are engaging gatherings where members from across the state come together to collaborate, network, and develop leadership skills. These events provide opportunities for training sessions, project planning, and recognition of outstanding achievements within the organization. GAs serve as a platform to inspire innovation, foster community impact, and strengthen the mission of empowering young professionals and leaders across Illinois.
JCI Illinois' The Outstanding Young People (TOYP) Award recognizes exceptional individuals aged 18 to 40 who have made significant contributions to their communities, professions, or society. This prestigious honor highlights young leaders who demonstrate innovation, leadership, and a commitment to positive change. Through the TOYP program, the Illinois Jaycees celebrate the inspiring stories of these individuals, motivating others to pursue excellence and service.
OUR PROGRAMS
JCI Illinois supports civic engagement through initiatives like JCI USA’s partnership with Vote Forward, which encourages young voters to participate in the democratic process. Through handwritten letters and grassroots outreach, the campaign aims to increase voter participation, empower young people to make their voices heard, and strengthen communities through meaningful civic involvement.
Each year, the State President selects a cause that is personally significant to focus on. Past initiatives have included Special Olympics, food insecurity and senior citizens. This year's State Initiative is about Mental health is at the heart of who we are and how we lead. Through a focus on the mind, our chapters, and the communities we serve, we are committed to creating a culture of support, understanding, and meaningful connection. By fostering awareness, building safe spaces, and working together to reduce stigma.
Camp New Hope is a year-round recreational facility for individuals with special needs, ages eight and above, offering activities like fishing, pontoon boat rides, swimming, mini golf, crafts, and more across its scenic 41-acre property on Lake Mattoon. JCI Illinois supports Camp New Hope through fundraising efforts and by assisting with preparations for the summer camp season. JCI Illinois continues to enhance their involvement by participating in more camp events as schedules permit.
